Ridge Vents

Externally baffled ridge vents can be a great option when there is enough ridge available and the installation is done properly.  The external baffle deflects the wind and weather over the vent, creating an area of negative pressure that draws air from the attic regardless of wind direction.  Externally baffled ridge vents are the most efficient because they take advantage of two natural forces: the thermal effect and wind.

Are You Underinsulated?

Balanced attic ventilation works much better when your home is adequately insulated.  If your home wasn't built in the last decade, chances are it's one of the millions of dwellings in the United States that are underinsulated.

Homes not insulated to today's standards can suffer substantial heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, forcing your heating and cooling systems to work overtime and wasting precious energy dollars.
